This year we got to have the Down syndrome Buddy Walk in person at Dutchess Stadium. Since I turned 30 in September, my team’s name was, “Christa’s 30th Birthday Crew!” My stepfather, Ron, had special permission to bring my dog, Jameson. He played ball with the little kids in the field. We had our picture taken with Marc Molinaro and the Think Differently sign. Jameson was a very well-behaved dog at the Buddy Walk. We had so much fun!
I also did Karaoke with some of the little kids, like Chyanne and Lucas. Lucas liked singing, “Honey I’m Good.” That was super fun! Chyanne liked singing music from Beauty and the Beast and Frozen. Jessica joined me too. It was a very successful day!
We had pizza, drinks, games, and there was pumpkin decorating with volunteers. But, my favorite part was getting to hold baby Arlo and having his family join us in the Buddy Walk. I also sang the Star-Spangled Banner at the very end. Can’t wait for Buddy Walk 2022!
